It is with great sadness that I inform you of the duty related death of Brother Eric Scoby of Peoria Firefighters, Local 50. Brother Scoby passed away Monday, February 17th, 2025, from occupational cancer. Brother Scoby was 52 years old. He is survived by his wife Jennifer, children Sierra, Genevieve, and Cullen, bonus children Morgan and Niko, and five grandchildren.

Brother Scoby’s services are as follows:

Visitation: Monday, February 24th, 2025, from 1500-2000hrs, at Northwoods Community Church- 10700 N. Allen Rd., Peoria, IL 61615.

Uniformed Personnel Walk-Through: Monday, February 24th, 2025, at 1800hrs, at Northwoods Community Church- 10700 N. Allen Rd., Peoria, IL 61615. Honor Guard members should arrive no later than 1700hrs.

Visitation: Tuesday, February 25th, 2025, at 1000hrs, at Northwoods Community Church-10700 N. Allen Rd., Peoria, IL 61615. Honor Guard members should arrive no later than 0845hrs.

Funeral: Tuesday, February 25th, 2025, at 1100hrs, Northwoods Community Church- 10700 N. Allen Rd., Peoria, IL 61615. There will be a private procession immediately following the funeral. A reception will be held at the Northwoods Community Church following the departure of the procession.

Local 50 has secured a block of rooms for those traveling in. The block is at the Holiday Inn and Suites Grand Prairie- 7601 N. Orange Prairie Rd., Peoria, IL 61615. The block is under the name: “AFFI Honor Guard”. The room rate is $110 per night.
